Akwesasne singer-songwriter Theresa Bear Fox has been making music in both Mohawk and English for twenty years. She says that melodies started coming to her when she was young, but that she didn’t start using them to write songs until she was in her early twenties. Now, Fox says that she feels called to share her music to uplift her community and encourage more people to learn Mohawk. 

Peter Yarrow has harnessed music to unite hearts in common purpose, knowing that when music brings people together, it has a unique ability to catalyze and hasten positive change. From Peter, Paul & Mary to today - Yarrow has been committed to advocating for positive social change dedicating his time and talent over the years to equal rights, peace-building, education, preservation of the environment, and more. 

Keith Secola is an icon and ambassador of Native music. He is one of the most influential artists in the field today. Rising from the grassroots of North America, he is a songwriter of the people. Critics have dubbed him as the Native versions of both Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen. NDN Kars (Indian cars), his most popular song is considered the contemporary Native American anthem, achieving legendary status and earning him a well deserved cult following. It has been the number one requested song on tribal radio since the 1992. In 2011, he joined the ranks of Jimmy Hendrix, Hank Williams, Crystal Gale, and Richie Valens, and was inducted into the Native Music Hall of Fame. Keith Secola is a seven-time Native American Music Award winner, receiving numerous Nammy nominations in various categories.

Kyp Malone is a musician and artist based in Brooklyn NYC. He wrote and performed with the musical groups TV on the Radio and Iran.
Malone currently plays with the musical groups Ice Balloons & Bent Arcana but primarily performs solo employing elements of storytelling, rock, folk and electronic music.  

The intent of singing societies throughout Haudenosaunee territories is to help their community with the help of singing traditional songs in our languages. Singing societies do work that helps their community that include raising funds, supporting the community as needed, as well as spreading the healing energies of our Onkwehonwe songs. The Onondaga Women's Singing society is a group of women based in the Onondaga Nation. They will be joining us to sing some traditional Onondaga women's dance songs. 

Mercedes Terrance, also known as Tsatsi'tsiahawi, her Kanien'kehaka name meaning “she carries/brings the flowers," is a singer and tattoo artist from Akwesasne, NY. Mercedes has been singing and performing for over seven years and tattooing using both hand poke and machine work for over four years.

Roberto Múkaro Borrero has a distinguished and diverse background in policy & program development, and human rights advocacy, including a specialization on the rights of Indigenous Peoples.  A published writer, an accomplished artist, and musician,  Borrero is a member of the Taíno Tribal Nation, an Indigenous Peoples whose traditional homelands extend through the Greater & Lesser Antilles to the Southern tip of Florida in the U.S. In 2012, he was traditionally sanctioned a kasike (chief) of the Guainía Taíno tribal community.  

Kawenniiosta Jock is Kanien’kehá:ka, under the title family of Orenrehrekó:wa Wolf Clan from Akwesasne. She's a mother, activist, land protector, master seamstress, artist and lover of all creation. Kawenniiosta has helped develop traditional support, cultural teachings and language preservation within her community and is a Onkwehónwe full-spectrum doula. She is here to bring ancient knowledge and teachings back to restore the collective balance within her people and all humanity 🌎. Kawenniiosta is an alumna of the Akwesasne Freedom School and is passionate about the restoration of her peoples way of life. She carries a heart-felt desire to create a space of love and healing for each and every individual.

Bethany Yarrow sings music of power and praise. She is a song keeper, earth activist, and student of the spiritual traditions of the Americas. With a living prayer for unity at the heart of her music, she uses her voice to  help protect the land & water and build community and collaborative solutions to address the existential threats of our time.

Sean Rowe is an American singer-songwriter, musician, recording artist, and forager. Rowe has a powerful sound with an emotional conviction that demands attention. Rowe has graced the stage of Mountain Jam, Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival as well as opening for Robert Plant and the Alabama Shakes. Expanding his sound, Rowe continues to write heartfelt songs strongly rooted in singer-songwriter tradition. PopMatters.com reflected, “with lyrics that have the poetic storytelling quality you expect from Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen.” An avid naturalist and renowned forager, Rowe often speaks of his fascination with the woods and his connection to the land, some of which he shares in his show "Can I Eat This" on Youtube.

Taierakieh "Wihse" Benedict (Wolf Clan) is a Kaniekehaka Rotiskerakhete from the Akwesasne Mohawk territory who comes from a traditional family a two time champion smoke dancer and a ceremonial and social dance singer also a third generation iron worker who has work all over United States and Canada and promotes the knowledge of traditional teachings and the ceremonial structure of the long house people

Stephanie Rooker (she/her) is a vocalist, composer, therapeutic voice teacher, and mental health counselor.  Since 2007, she has distinguished herself as a force of soul in the NYC music scene with her band The Search Engine, duo work with guitarist Ben Tyree, and freelance work with ensembles throughout the city including Riverside Church Inspirational Choir and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s Revelations chorus.  Stephanie's soul-shaking sounds range from saucy r&b to rousingly revived funk and lush jazz-infused ballads. Her unique and alluring music is fueled by a tangible passion for healing, empowerment, and social change. 

In 2013, Stephanie founded Voice Journey Sound Center, through which she & other Voice Journey facilitators offer an array of workshops, individual lessons, and programs to awaken the medicine of the voice for holistic healing, creative empowerment, and personal & collective liberation. 

Guitarist Ben Tyree is a performer and composer of virtuosic ability, infectious groove, and eclectic tastes. Originally from Washington, DC - having attended the prestigious Duke Ellington School of the Arts and subsequently majored in Jazz Studies at Howard University - Tyree has been NYC-based since 2002. His versatility has additionally led to work with artists as diverse as Vernon Reid, Valerie June, Elliott Sharp, Brooklyn Raga Massive, and the mainstay Burnt Sugar: The Arkestra Chamber to name a few.

Kanerahtiio Roger Jock (Bear Clan) is a Kanien’kehá:ka leader from the Akwesasne Reserve who carries a vision of return for his people to their ancestral lands in the Mohawk Valley of New York. Kanerahtiio has taught cultural awareness all over the U.S. for over 40 years as part of the White Roots of Peace Movement.

Creative Thought Leader ... Colin, or Yawasoe as he is known in the Plant Medicine community,has been the personal Medicine Man for recording artist and actress, Erykah Badu as well as other celebrity artists. As a musician, artist and former dancer he incorporates all of these modalities when helping clients. Using his experience and training with chanting, singing and yoga, he created Movement and Mantra, which helps to connect people to nature and provides participants with tools to identify their own power and to shift their reality in the most positive direction for their highest good and life path. 

Semiah's songs radiate energy of an artist with an international heart who grew up touring around the world: from art festivals in the Australian outback to the beaches of Trinidad since the age of 7. Born with a honey tone conditioned through years of singing traditional social songs from her Kanien'kehà:ka background, Semiah sings with unapologetic honesty beyond her 24 years.

Kahsenniyo is a Kanien'kehá:ka poet who spits fire and truth in her work. She brings to life the realities and struggles of being an Indigenous person in modern society. Utilizing her personal story of teenage motherhood, intergenerational trauma, activism and decolonization, she engages audiences and participants. 

Sandra Owén:nakon Deer-Standup is a Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk) from Kahnawa:ke (By The Rapids).  She has been involved in land defense and political activism for sovereign rights for her people since she was 6 years old. A mother, wife, aunt, great-aunt and grandmother, Owén:nakon has taught elementary and early childhood education in the Kanien’keha language for over 20 years.  She has been an educational administrator, curriculum writer and consultant; has published several published academic papers; and is currently writing her doctoral dissertation in education at McGill University. 

Tsering Lodoe was born in India and studied at the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA), in Dharamsala. Lodoe continued his affiliation with TIPA for over 23 years earning advanced degrees in all aspects of traditional Tibetan music and performing arts. In addition to his studies, he toured throughout the globe performing for TIPA. In 1999, Lodoe was selected to perform on the sound track in the internationally acclaimed film, Himalaya. Lodoe can also be heard on the sound tracks of Seven Years in Tibet.  Lodoe has sung for His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Pope John Paul. In 2005, he won Best Composition and Best Opera Singer in the prestigious Tibetan Music Awards. Lodoe’s magical voice, carries deep nuances of his rich Tibetan lineage.

Antoinette is a medicine woman, facilitator of healing, shamanic coach and crystal healing certification teacher. Her passion is to encourage men and women on their journey of self discovery, healing, and transformation. She basks in high vibration through ceremony, singing, drumming, and always appreciating and relating to nature.

Maria Esther Pallares is an extraordinary musician, composer, acupuncturist, mother, grandmother and caretaker of   many cultural roots of Brazil. For decades Maria Esther has been an on-call volunteer, helping several indigenous and quilombo communities with health and counseling. For the last 20 years she has been devoted to the Guaraní communities of the Ribeira Valley. Called the "Mata Atlântica" (Atlantic Forest), it is challenging region from a social and economic perspective, but it is also the best-preserved primordial coastal rainforest in Brazil.  

Maria Esther's work with the First Nation tribal people developed slowly through a deep friendship and building trust with the elders, women, children and medicine people. She was baptized by the Guaranís and is considered by them to be a Pajé.  She holds a point of light in the forest where different indigenous ethnicities make their prayers and where many people go to receive healings, conduct ceremonies of baptism, marriage, and other sacred rituals. 

Over the last years she has also been a spiritual support for communities in the United States and Europe, bringing her music and her forest medicine where she is called. 

Jon's musical style has been dubbed “Earth Spirit Revival”.  His songs are prayers, for human beings to come together in this time, to build together for the next generations. John is the creative visionary behind PermaJam (a model for festivals that transform the land and unite communities).  He has dedicated the last 8 years in service, organizing for environmental and social causes, helping to build farms and permaculture projects.

John Wieczorek has studied contemporary, ethnic and electronic percussion for the last 35 years.  He has performed with improvisers throughout the United States and Europe.

The singer and songwriter Rebecca Martin and jazz bassist Larry Grenadier have performed together for a quarter century, influencing a generation of musicians. Their duo performances showcase their special chemistry and compositions, enhanced by Martin’s indelible voice and supple guitar work and Grenadier’s poetic and inventive double bass. Additionally, Rebecca is a community organizer, founder of KingstonCitizens.org, a non-partisan, citizen run organization that has been focused since 2006 on increasing citizen engagement in city government. She is the former Executive Director of the Kingston Land Trust where under her leadership, the trust was touted as a ‘national model’ by the Land Trust Alliance and she also served as the the special project coordinator in the Water Quality Program at Riverkeeper, New York State’s Clean Water Advocate. 

Stephen Kraska is the Creator and owner of ECO ACRES.  Eco Acres was born from an idea to make a positive impact with the Earth. As an experiential education organization we focus on helping people reconnect with the Earth to connect with themselves. Our community of connected and passionately motivated people helps us weave a web of ideas that have been scattered across all cultures and times, interconnecting them back into one place again. We look at the lives of our past, and apply knowledge to the present in order to create a better future for the Earth and those living here. By using Earth based skills, bushcraft, survival, ecological knowledge, and a multitude of other practices we are able to help create a better future for ourselves and all our relations.

Lloyd Elm is a singer-songwriter from the Onondaga nation. Steeped from a young age in the music scene of the 70s and 80s, he started writing music at a young age. He has a collection of 55 original songs in the contemporary, blues and progressive rock genres which he released with his band Rolling Thunder and has performed around the Syracuse area. Born and raised with the cultural music of his Longhouse people and his Comanche people of the Great Plains, Lloyd has sung and taught hundreds of contemporary and religious Native American songs, keeping them alive to pass on to the next generation.

Karenna Gore is the founder and executive director of the Center for Earth Ethics and visiting professor of practice of earth ethics at Union Theological Seminary in New York. Karenna formed CEE in 2015 to address the moral and spiritual dimensions of the climate crisis. Working at the intersection of faith, ethics, and ecology, she guides the Center’s public programs, educational initiatives, and movement-building. She also is an ex officio faculty member of Columbia University’s Earth Institute.
